METHOD USED FOR SLIDECASTING:

I did not need to store my mp3 files on line after all, originally I did and in the end by mistake I delete them because I reached my quota; but it works wonderfully without them.

I tried the text to speech webpage it worked very good I liked it, but in the end I did not use it since I used articulate.

I went to slide cast file for a long and repetitive visits to complete this task so I had to go to articulate.com as you advised us. Finally, after 20 trials or more ARTICULATE allowed me to upload everything so fast in one shot. When before I had to upload 2 to 3 files at a time and then it crashes.

It was very challenging experience to know when the website is working or it was our mistake.

Learning unit 10

Learning Unit 10:

April 14, 2008

Infotechtools class has prepared us to work with many social networking software, word processing software, and photos/videos editing software, and most of all how to handle them. After we learned about the existence of these software and their availabilities for free we were asked to collaborate in a document writing process. We had to use Google Docs and WetPaint Wiki to write about the different types of Social Networking Software (SNS) and word processing software.

Our class was able to attend in a long discussion using Google docs in a collaborative way so we all were able to contribute in the same time. I think it was a very good session in collaboration. Unfortunately I did not check my email till late the following day when I discovered another session late that day. It was hard for me to follow up when I was typing away in one document and the conversation was still going in YUGMA were the meeting took place.

I tried to be on top of things to keep up with what other need to complete their task since this was a group task, therefore I finished most what is needed to complete my group section, and left my comments till 5:00 and 6:00 in the morning while I was still working that night.

Unit Learning # 9

TASK #1

The assignment was to use and familiarize ourselves with Google Calendar, MyOffice on FaceBook, ZOHO Porject, and Yugma.

Google Calendar: Google Calendar is used to setup for coordination and collaboration for meeting, project, or any need for follow-up; similarly Microsoft Outlook. Since we have an account with Google mail or Gmail from our previous “learning units” it facilitated for us the use of their calendar, called Google Calendar. This type of calendar has collaboration for public or certain group/people we choose to have access to all functions of our calendar events. Also I was able to import my group events to my so we can synchronize and plan ahead for what we have if there is a time constraint. I think that this program would be useful among work project or large families. The best feature that I like is that you can merge calendars with any other user. Thus, you could see when each other is busy or has plans. Using this calendar was very easy and user friendly. I probably would use this calendar in the near future.

MyOffice by FaceBook :

MyOffice enabled me to create a project and share with my group. We are all contributing in this project. We can collaborate, add and change the project process and any important event pertaining to the project. It has less capabilities then ZOHO project. This was interesting and pretty good.

This was interesting and pretty good. I didn’t like the layout of the program. This also allows your group to collaborate and use it for different fields such as with friends or co-workers on a single project. It has very neat features that are very helpful for task handling.

ZOHO project:

This program has wider capabilities in handling projects and what pertain to them, from collaboration to milestone handling. It is very helpful to get information of every task we did in our group project. This program seems to be more convenient and more user friendly for a team working on a single (or multiple) projects over the internet. This program has a lot of features.

YUGMA:  This is really a very great program, and its capabilities are yet to be discovered. I signed up with the free trail about 2 weeks ago and I was allowed a 14 days and it is about to expire; I believe it will turn automatically to the free account. I can share and collaborate virtually with my class instantaneously. I was happy to see and share the others desktops remotely. It seems similar to net meeting with much better communication capabilities and collaborations, form chatting recording the session and replaying it as well. Hopefully in the near future I can collaborate with my team or coworkers at work and over the internet many task and responsibilities…

TASK #2

I saw one colleague mentioning Phixr, http://www.phixr.com/ also I did find it in my research for Learning unit # 8. I tried it, it is a bit different than other program I used in the past; to find all the operational keys to enhance a picture or to create one. I was able to complete some modification on the picture I had on my desktop. I think I am used to use the non- web-based software.
